Tryntje Eisen - Acrylic Painting

What motivates me to paint?

First of all, I am happy when I paint.

Second, I feel a real connection with my subjects.

During a difficult time in my life, a dear pastor read to me from the Bible:

Matthew 6:

Do not worry: Look at the birds of the air; they do not reap or sow or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

The thought that there are beating hearts all around us that are cared for by our heavenly Father, fills me with joy and peace.

From that place in my heart, I started painting, mainly birds, but other creatures as well. Lately I’ve had a lot of fun with the “Birds on Birch” series where my husband cuts the birch slices and I paint all kinds of birds on them. Sometimes people request a favourite bird on commission.

What is your favourite bird?
