Brigitte Wolf - Stained Glass

Picture
Reflections Glass Studio
For more than 30 years, I have worked in stained glass, creating flat glass pieces for private and public spaces, enhanced through sandblasting and glass painting.

Stained glass is enlivened through light. As illumination shifts, so does the mood of the work—an ephemeral, transformative quality that continues to challenge and inspire me. Marc Chagall, both painter and glass artist, observed that “colour carries the emotional content of a work of art.”

My inspiration comes from close observation of the world around me. Nature’s colours and forms, geometric patterning, and architectural language all inform my work. Traditional influences such as quilt designs, early Celtic art, and the Bayeux Tapestry also find their way into my designs.

My Jazz Variations series explores abstraction, using randomly sandblasted elements arranged through an improvisational yet structured process, much like jazz music itself.

Returning to nature, I developed a series on Trees. I use my own photographs to develop photo-resist techniques on flashed and painted glass, while other designs are hand painted.

I welcome new clients and enjoy collaborating with them to bring beauty into their environments through glass. For more information about custom work, please visit www.reflectionsglass.ca

I am a long-time resident of Huron County, now living in Goderich, and am pleased to be part of the artist community at the Goderich Co-op Gallery. My work is also available through the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery in Waterloo.
