James McMullan was awarded the Viewer’s Choice Award, Second Place, at the Third Annual Marine Art Gallery. The Art Show celebrates the marine history of the Great Lakes and the Port Of Goderich. The Marine Art Gallery draws many visitors and marine historians to the Huron County Museum on North Street, Goderich.

“My painting allows me to glimpse through a window at life itself”, explains local artist Jim McMullan. Jim resides in Bayfield and draws inspiration for his canvases from Lake Huron. After raising a family and working in the area, Jim focuses his inspiration today on capturing the beauty of light and shadows. “My driving force is to capture the light and how it can evoke emotions.”

“I am always learning. I search for the perfect stroke to put what I feel into my work. Every experience is a new one in my movement toward nature’s perfection,” says Jim. He works with oils and acrylics.
