Artist Statement:
Lisa Golem's work is an ongoing investigation into color, texture, and emotion. Working primarily with acrylic and mixed media, she combines abstract concepts with realistic elements to create pieces that feel both whimsical and ethereal. Alongside this, Lisa has also perfected the technique of acrylic pour painting, achieving smooth, colorful, and organic compositions which sometimes stand alone, and sometimes are incorporated into more developed work.
The foundation of her work often begins with an abstract underpainting that guides the direction of the final piece, allowing the subconscious mind to lead the creative journey. This approach results in a dynamic interplay of energy, movement, and flow. Each artwork is crafted to evoke deep emotions and transport the viewer to a fantastical realm.
The selection of subject matter is an intuitive and deeply personal process. Lisa is drawn to themes and scenes that elicit strong emotions or carry significant meaning. Nature, music, and spiritual elements serve as her primary sources of inspiration.
