Roslyn Cook
Roslyn Cook is a multi-talented fibre artist who creates colourful and energetic works of art from original designs. She works with natural fabrics — cotton, linen, wool, or silk — employing techniques such as hand embroidery, fabric dyeing, and appliqué. She has also embraced wool felting in all its forms as part of her creative process.
Her love of embroidery was inspired by her mother's skilled hand stitching and the community quilting bees she so often hosted — and from that, a new passion for the creative process of fabric art was born. She continues to delight in discovering new ways to work with fabric.
Long walks along Lake Huron and through nearby woods inspire all aspects of Roslyn's art. The tranquility of these walks fuels a passion for her work that is both grounding and healing.
Roslyn lives in Goderich and works from her home studio. She is passionate about community involvement and is active with the Celtic College, where she teaches felting and embroidery. She marvels at the creativity her students discover as they learn these timeless skills.
