Art makes me happy. It informs and entertains me when I travel. It challenges me when I make it, and it brings me such pleasure when I can share it with others. During my career I have enjoyed exploring so many different styles, media and techniques, and now my clay work combines these experiences.
I am especially fascinated with the wide world of possibilities being used to hand build with clay. There are endless ways to play with colour, shape, size, texture, and then there is even another door that opens when you vary the firing methods.
Since retiring as a secondary school visual arts teacher, I have been fortunate to continue learning more and developing my passion for clay work at one of the best facilities available – the Mesa Arts Center.
I love learning and so my work is continually evolving.
